Consulting Services Labor Rate Guide

     Hourly rates vary with the size of the contract and length of agreement.
     Standard Overhead on labor is 10% applied to all agreements.
     Travel Expenses are added for all travel beyond a 50 mile radius.
     Purchased Materials or Services are always billed at our direct cost.

Proposal and Related Fees

There is no charge for initial questions and exploratory discussions.   Upon verbal agreement, detailed project proposals are prepared to estimate the costs and outline the tasks and preliminary schedule.  Due to our experience with frivolous inquiries, we have adopted the following practice.  If the proposal is not accepted, or is postponed, ITC will expect partial reimbursement for the effort.  This may range up to $1000 and would be invoiced after 30 days.  Otherwise, this preliminary labor cost is absorbed in the follow-on contract.

Feasibility Studies

This preparatory phase of work clarifies the project objectives and the functional specifications.  It also includes the exploration of methods and plausible options required to realize the objectives.  In addition, the details of the project plan are expanded and examined, and cost estimates are revised.  On most projects, there is more than one way to accomplish the goals.  Exploring the alternatives and contingencies is often the most essential part of the project because it defines what is possible and what will be developed and delivered.  The typical cost for this work ranges from $5K and may require several weeks.  It may also include some exploratory work or trials.

Special Consulting Arrangements

For new ventures, the cost of Consulting Services can be defrayed by several methods.  Depending on the project, part or all of the labor cost can be postponed or exchanged for consideration.  However, we usually expect that our direct expenses, such as purchases and travel, would be reimbursed.  Such options are available at our discretion and may be conditional.  The following examples apply to both technical and management services:
